Who we are
Haymaker is a content and NIL monetization studio for student athletes, operated out of California. We help athletes build a content presence, manage brand deals, and grow their audience, without it consuming their time.
When you use the Haymaker app or website, you trust us with information about you. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. No filler. No legalese fog.

Who we share your information with
The Haymaker team
Your Haymaker account manager and content team have access to your profile, tasks, submitted clips, and inbox messages. This is how we operate. We need to see your content to edit it and schedule it.
Brand and NIL partners
When you accept a brand deal proposal through Haymaker, we share relevant information with that brand, typically your name, relevant social metrics, and the agreed deal terms. We only share what is necessary for the deal to proceed. We do not share your full profile or personal contact information with brands without your explicit consent.
Social platforms
When we publish content on your behalf to TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, data is transmitted to those platforms in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for how those platforms handle data once published.
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate Haymaker:
- Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase:app analytics and crash reporting
- Payment processors:to handle NIL deal payments
- Cloud storage providers:to store your uploaded video content securely
These providers are contractually required to use your data only to provide services to us, not for their own purposes.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Haymaker, our team, or other users.
Your content
Video clips, scripts, and other files you upload to the Vault remain yours. By uploading content, you grant Haymaker a license to store, edit, and publish that content to your connected social accounts as directed by you through the app. You can revoke this at any time by removing content from the Vault or disconnecting your accounts.
We do not use your uploaded content to train machine learning models.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (such as NIL payment records).
Why we process your data (lawful basis)
We process your personal information on the following legal grounds:
- Contractual necessity:processing your data is required to deliver the Haymaker service. This includes operating your account, managing your content workflow, and facilitating NIL deals.
- Legitimate interest:we process certain data to maintain and improve the platform, send you relevant updates, and keep the service secure. We weigh this against your rights before doing so.
- Consent:where we rely on your consent (such as connecting social accounts or receiving marketing communications), you can withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
- Legal obligation:we retain certain data as required by law, including NIL payment records for tax and compliance purposes.
Your rights
You have the following rights over your personal information. These apply to all users; California residents have additional rights under the CCPA noted below.
- Right to access:you can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Right to correction:you can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to deletion:you can request that we delete your personal information. We will do so unless we are required to retain it by law (for example, NIL payment records).
- Right to restrict processing:you can ask us to pause how we use your data in certain circumstances, such as while you contest its accuracy.
- Right to object:you can object to us processing your data where we rely on legitimate interest as our legal basis. We will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue.
- Right to data portability:you can request that we provide your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format so you can transfer it to another service.
- Right to withdraw consent:where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect anything we processed before the withdrawal.
California residents (CCPA)

- Know the categories of personal information collected and the purposes for which it is used

Children
Haymaker is intended for student athletes who are 18 years of age or older (or the minimum age of NIL eligibility in their state). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and review our practices regularly.
